Lake Wisconsin Church is proud to offer a thriving Women's Ministry that brings together Christian women from multiple generations for fellowship, service, discipleship, and support. No matter your age or life-stage you will find a community here. Opportunities include home Bible studies, numerous care and service opportunities, and an annual fall retreat. We encourage you to attend one of our quarterly Women's Ministry Breakfasts for more information and to get plugged in. Below are a few of our ongoing opportunities but please check the church calendar or use the 'contact us' page under the 'resources' tab to let us know how we can help you get connected!
Throughout the year we provide meals to individuals and families dealing with illness, new babies, or who are recovering from surgeries or the loss of a loved one. These meals provide comfort and assistance to those who need it. In addition to providing meals, we also provide care blankets to those going through a particularly difficult situation or a lengthy sickness. Each care blanket is handmade and prayed over before it is given.
Annual Fall Retreat
Every fall, we hold a weekend womens' retreat at Expeditions Unlimited in Baraboo. This allows women to get away for some time and focus on drawing closer to God and forming new friendships. Our retreat this fall will be Friday and Saturday, November 1-2. More details will be available this fall.
Daughters of the King
Every year we host a special luncheon open to all women called Daughters of the King. This is a unique event so we like to celebrate with fine china and delicious food. There is special speaker and music focused on reminding everyone that we are part of God's family and daughters of the King. It is truly a remarkable event that brings together ladies of all ages for some wonderful fellowship and a thought-provoking message. There is no costs to attend.
1st & 3rd Wednesdays of Each Month
9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Moms' Group is a structured fellowship group that meets with purpose to find support from the Bible and from each other in the Lodi/Lake Wisconsin area. All mothers are welcome to come, and we are especially geared toward moms with elementary-aged or younger children. Motherhood can be a struggle, especially with young children at home. We are learning and growing together with God's help.
We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, at 9:30-11:30am at Lake Wisconsin Church. Meetings include a Bible lesson for moms (with childcare provided), followed by an open and active playtime with our children. Playtime activities will vary, and may include: an outdoor playground, balls, scooters, the bounce-house castle, or other toys or equipment.
Here are a few testimonials about Moms' Group and the impact it has made:
"Moms' Group has given me an hour to draw closer to God and in turn become a better mother. I appreciate this group so much!"
"Having an opportunity to learn and grow spiritually with other women in my community has been a wonderful. It also serves as a reprieve and revival of my heart to tackle any new parenting obstacles. Thanks for making this available."
"Moms' Group gives me an chance to get a break and to enjoy a Bible study and have some time to get to know other moms. It truly has been a blessing to me wherever I go! Thanks"
Our Bible lesson time for the moms is friendly and conversational. We are open to all moms joining us, even if hearing about the Bible is totally new to you! We come from a lot of different faith backgrounds, and we welcome questions and differing opinions. This year, we are starting a journey of reading the Bible aloud to our families, based on the ideas from Carrie Ward's book "Together: Growing Appetites for God."
On Wednesday mornings, come to church at 9:30 through the lower entrance of the church, and drop your child(ren) off in the nursery rooms. The moms meet together down the hall in another classroom for our Bible lesson. After an hour, we will pick up our children and the kids can have active playtime together and the moms continue their conversations.
Please RSVP on our Facebook page (Lake Wisconsin Church Moms' Group) that you are planning to come, so that we can make sure to have enough childcare staff. If you are joining us for the first-time, or just as a visitor, please let us know the ages of your children that need childcare. If you have questions, send Thea a message or email at email@example.com or call the church office at 608-592-3091.
Be sure to join our Facebook group "Lake Wisconsin Church Moms' Group", for information and details about impromptu playdates and additional meetings at playgrounds, splash pads, the pool, etc throughout the school year and summer.
