David & Sue Rousseau
HARARE, ZIMBABWE
For the past 22 years, the Rousseaus’ have been missionaries with The Evangelical Alliance Mission in Zimbabwe. David has been a teacher and is now the President of Harare Theological College in Harare. In preparing the students for the pastorate or other ministry, God’s Word is the foundation. Currently, the college has about 100 students that come from other African Countries as well as Zimbabwe. Sue works with the students and makes all of the arrangements for the short term mission groups that come there which work at the Karanda Mission Hospital or among the at risk children in the city. Both David and Sue are active in the local church.
David and Sue have two children. Their son Chris, is a student at Cedarville College in Indiana and their daughter Hannah is married and teaches at a Christian school in Zimbabwe. Her husband Brett, teaches at the theological college.
Zimbabwe is a very poor and unstable country, ruled by a dictator. Farms owned by white people have been seized and redistributed to others. Official unemployment figures are 95%; in addition, 25% of the people have HIV/AIDS and there are a million orphans in the country.
